How can I add opening balances in MProfit?

In this tutorial, we will explain how you can import opening balances for your current stock portfolio into MProfit.


If you can't access historical transaction files from your broker, you can utilize an Excel template to import opening balances for your active stock positions.


Follow the steps below to import your opening balances:


Step 1: Login to your MProfit account and click the Import button.

Step 2: Click on the (+) icon.



Step 3: Click Stocks.



Step 4: Now, type the broker name, for example- MProfit, in the search bar.

Step 5: Choose MProfit Statements.

Step 6: In the next window, select the second option, MProfit Stock Opening Balances.

Step 7: Now, click Continue.

Step 8: Next, click the i button.

Step 9: Click the link to download the Excel sheet. 


Open the Excel sheet and enter your data starting from row number 10. 


Do not modify the data from row number 1 to row number 9, as it is an important part of the template. 


Once you have entered your data, return to MProfit and cancel the download.

Step 10: Click Upload File.

Step 11: Select the downloaded file and click on Open.


Then click Import.

Step 12: MProfit will prompt you to select the Family and Portfolio to which the file belongs. 


Next, click Save.

Step 13: Review the imported data and click Confirm Import.



Step 14: You are now done. Click Back to Portfolio.

This is how you can seamlessly import opening balances for your current stock portfolio into MProfit!
