In this tutorial, we will learn about the auto calculation of cash on hand in MProfit.
This feature removes the necessity for manual calculations, thereby improving efficiency.
Activating Auto Calculation
Initially, we had to manually add the daily closing cash balance by clicking the (+) sign and selecting the Add Daily Closing Cash Balance option.
However, this process is now completely automated.
Ensure the PMS portfolio selected in the additional options has the auto-calculate cash balance checkbox ticked.
Step 1: Login to your MProfit account and select the portfolio where you want the auto calculation.
Step 2: Then click Edit Portfolio from the drop-down list.
Step 3: Click the (+) sign of Additional Options.
Step 4: Please make sure to select the checkbox that says Should cash balance be auto-calculated?
Step 5: After selecting the checkbox, click Save.
Adding Cash Inflows and Outflows
Step 1: Manually add the cash inflows and outflows by clicking on the (+) sign.
Step 2: Select Add Cash Inflows/Outflows from the drop-down list.
For example, on 1st June 2021, we had a cash inflow of 5 crores, and on June 30th 2021, we had a cash outflow of 50 lakhs.
After clicking Save, we can see that the cash on hand was automatically calculated.
Importing a PMS Transaction Statement
Step 1: Click the Import tab.
Step 2: Select or search for the PMS transaction statement you wish to import.
Step 3: Then click Upload File.
Step 4: Select the file, then click Open and Import.
Step 5: The system will prompt you to set family and portfolio mapping.
Select the Family from the drop-down list.
Step 6: Then select the Portfolio from the drop-down list.
Step 7: Now, click Save.
After importing, the cash on hand will adjust automatically based on the amount invested.
Step 8: You are now done. Click Back to Portfolio to go back to the summary screen.
This is how you can seamlessly set the auto-calculation of cash on hand in MProfit!
