This article will guide you through the process of handling a share swap in MProfit, using the example of the swap that occurred between ICICI Securities and ICICI Bank in 2025.
Step 1: Start by selecting ICICI Bank. Click on the down arrow.
Step 2: Then, select View Transactions.
Here, you'll see various buy and sell transactions. Note the closing balance, then return to the previous screen.
Step 3: Now, select ICICI Securities. Click on the down arrow.
Step 4: Click on View Transaction.
Again, note the buy and sell transactions and the closing balance. Return to the previous screen.
Step 5: Click on the down arrow again.
Step 6: This time, select Corporate Actions.
Here, you'll see the share swap dated March 24, 2025. Click on Approve.
Step 7: Note the FMV per share, which is set according to the swap conditions. Click on Confirm.
Step 8: Now, you'll see the share swap for ICICI Securities. Click on Add selected records.
Having completed this task, cancel and return to the portfolio.
Step 9: Go back to the portfolio for ICICI Securities. Click on the down arrow.
Step 10: Select View Transactions.
Here, you'll see the share swap. Return to the previous screen.
Step 11: Now, select ICICI Bank. Click on the down arrow.
Step 12: Click on View Transactions.
You'll see that a share swap of 214 quantities has been added to ICICI Bank at the price of ₹1358.95. Return to the previous screen.
Step 13: Now, let's see how this swap affects the capital gains for ICICI Securities. Go to reports.
Step 14: In the capital gains section, select the capital gains ITR format. Click on Stocks and then Generate Report.
Here, you'll see the capital gains report for ICICI Securities and ICICI Bank.
The sale price for ICICI Securities is 67% of the fair market value share declared by the company. This is how the capital gains is calculated for the swap.
