How to manage a change in face value for a Mutual Fund?

Modified on Wed, 16 Sep 2020 at 11:20 PM

There are two scenarios for a change in face value of a mutual fund scheme:

  1. The face value of a fund is being changed from 10 to 100 or 100 to 1000 i.e. you will receive more units.

    OR
  2. The face value of a fund is being changed from 100 to 10 or 1000 to 100 i.e. you will receive fewer units.

To manage either of the above scenarios, you need to add a Split transaction in MProfit.

The purchase price of your units will be adjusted based on the split ratio and you will receive accurate capital gains reporting in MProfit after adding the split transaction.

1) In your MProfit portfolio summary screen, right click on the Mutual Fund name and select Other Transactions. Then, click Add Fund Split.

2) Enter the effective date of split and quantity received after the split

Next, save the transaction.
