Managing segregated portfolio funds in MProfit

Modified on Sat, 19 Sep 2020 at 12:20 PM

At times, certain Mutual Funds are required to create segregated portfolios for unrated debt in case of default.

Please note that entries for segregated portfolios of Mutual Funds should not be directly imported from your CAS statement, as you will need MProfit to accurately compute capital gains for such funds.

In such cases, you will be required to make a demerger entry for the affected mutual fund in your MProfit portfolio.

We have provided an example below for Franklin segregated funds. Please follow the steps as per the example below:

1. From your PMS portfolio summary screen, right click on the required fund.

Next click Other Transactions > Add Fund Demerger.

2. Next, enter the record date.

Then proceeto the Demerger Details table below and press Ctrl+Shift+S to add a new asset.

3. Search for the fund name and add it. Then, enter the corresponding folio number. Next, click Save.

4.Now, under Demerger Details table, enter the Quantity for this fund but keep the Total Amount ZERO. Then click Save.

5. You are now done. Your segregated portfolio fund will now be visible to you on the portfolio summary screen.
